Homemade Electrolyte Drinks that will leave you craving more!

On these hot summer days, it is very easy to get dehydrated while working out or participating in your favorite outdoor activities such as climbing, mountain biking, trail running, etc. In order to sustain ourselves during those workouts, we need to stay hydrated. We like to stay hydrated with these Homemade electrolyte drinks that will instantly quench our thirst.

As much as we encourage drinking good old-fashioned water, sometimes we just need that extra kick of electrolytes. A common go-to beverage would be Gatorade or Pedialyte. When you’re sweating your face off, those are better than having nothing and necessary when used at the right moment. However, we are not keen on the artificial coloring. To avoid fake chemical coloring (and have the time amongst your busy schedule) you can whip up one of these 3 easy to make delicious electrolyte drinks. Homemade electrolyte drinks

Coconut Lime:

  • 2 cups coconut water (not from concentrate, Harmless Harvest brand is a good example)
  • ⅓ cup Fresh lime juice
  • ⅔ cup Water
  • 1 ½ tsp. Raw Honey
  • ⅛ tsp pink Himalayan salt

Orange Twist:

  • 2 cups water
  • ¾ cup fresh orange juice
  • ¼ cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp raw honey
  • ⅛ tsp pink Himalayan salt

Lemon Cucumber:

  • 3 ½ cups water
  • ½ cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1 large cucumber sliced
  • 3 tbsp raw honey
  • ⅛ tsp pink Himalayan salt

Instructions:

Add fresh squeezed juices, honey and salt to a quart sized mason jar. Once honey and salt is dissolved in the juice (may seem a touch syrupy), then add water and/or coconut water. Stir or shake to mix well. Refrigerate and enjoy within 4 days. Adding these (or other) homemade electrolyte drinks to your workout routine is a game changer that you wont regret. You will just regret you didn’t do it sooner.
