A lot of my job at Summit happens behind the scenes. As the Digital Marketing Director, I spend a lot of my time taking photos, filming videos, creating social media posts, and finding ways to share what’s happening around the gym with our community.
While most people experience Summit from the gym floor, my job gives me a slightly different perspective. I get to see a lot of the things that make Summit special and then figure out how to share those things with the people who follow along with us online. It’s a really fun role to be in.

Behind the Scenes at Summit
One of my favorite parts of my job is getting to capture all of the fun things that happen at Summit. I get to be around for events, classes, training sessions, and all of the little moments that happen throughout the day.
Sometimes I’m taking photos or videos of people trying something new. Other times, I’m just looking for a fun moment to capture and share. Either way, I get to see a lot of different sides of our community.
It’s fun to be in a position where I get to experience all of these things and then share them with everyone else. I get to see how much fun people are having, how much our staff cares about what they do, and all of the different ways people choose to move and train at Summit.
Sometimes, though, I get to put the camera down and join in myself.
Getting Involved in the Summit Community
I’ve started joining our Friday morning staff and friends workouts, which are usually much harder than anything I would normally do on my own.
I’m constantly impressed by our trainers and coaches during these workouts. They are incredibly strong, and it’s fun getting to see what they’re capable of when they’re the ones doing the workout instead of leading it.
I also get to try workouts and exercises that I’ve never seen before. I’m always learning something new about movement, training, and how the body works, and I think that’s one of the coolest parts of working at Summit.
My job is focused on marketing and social media, but I’ve learned so much about fitness just from being around our trainers, coaches, and members.
From Social Media to the Summit Gym
Another fun part of my job is finding fitness challenges online that we can try with our staff and share on social media.
Sometimes we’ll come across a challenge that looks like it would be fun to try, so we get a few people together and give it a shot. It’s always fun to see what happens when we actually attempt it, especially when the challenge turns out to be much harder than it looked online.
But one of my favorite things is when the challenge makes its way from social media back into the gym.
I love seeing people who work out at Summit recognize something we posted and decide to give it a try themselves. It’s fun to see our staff start a challenge, share it online, and then watch other people in our community join in behind the scenes.
Those moments remind me that social media can be more than just a place where we share what’s happening at Summit. It can also be another way for our community to connect, have fun, and inspire each other to try something new.
Watching the Summit Community Grow
One of the best parts of being behind the scenes at Summit is getting to see how much people improve over time.
I get to see people showing up, working hard, getting stronger, and continuing to learn. I get to see our staff and trainers doing what they love and helping other people become stronger and more capable.
I also get to be a driving force behind how we share all of that with the rest of our community.
At the end of the day, my job is to tell the story of Summit. But the best part is that there is always something happening that is worth sharing.
There are people trying new things, challenging themselves, getting stronger, and having fun together. I get to be right in the middle of all of it, even if I’m usually the one holding the camera.
There’s a lot that happens behind the scenes at Summit, and I feel pretty lucky that my job gives me the chance to see it.
And I may be biased, but if you haven’t checked out the content on all our socials, I’d highly recommend giving it a try! On Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and even LinkedIn, we dive into all things Summit and fitness, from educational videos on training to funny fitness challenges and everything in between.
