Personal Trainer

Shelby Copeland-CPT

Shelby grew up a creative, non-athletic kid who loved climbing trees, performing feats of strength, and running like the wind. It wasn’t until adulthood that she discovered forms of movement that were exactly like what she loved as a kid: playful, challenging, skillful, empowering, communal, and outdoors as much as possible. After overcoming chronic pain and illness, she discovered strength training and skill-based movement were powerful tools for healing and building confidence. She transitioned from a career as a video producer to coaching, earning NASM certification as a Personal Trainer and becoming a Level 3 MovNat Instructor. Now she teaches movement to all ages—from falls-resilience for older adults to kids’ natural movement classes. Shelby holds certifications in pregnancy and postpartum corrective exercise, fitness for older adults, and falls-resilience skills using the parkour modality.

Outside of teaching, she enjoys climbing, writing, parkour, ninja, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, Great Lakes surfing, performance art, dancing, and singing folk songs. She lives with her husband and their two awesome kids.
